Mobile phone use and drug use can seriously impair your ability to drive in a sensible manner and keep safe on the roads.
New changes that are due to come into place in September will attempt to tackle the the issue of mobile phone use by increasing the number of demerit points for people caught using their phone while driving.
The changes also involve broadening the definition of a “drug” to capture a wider range of substances, including legal medications which may impair driving such as cold and flu tablets that contain codeine.
If you are caught using your mobile phone while driving, or are caught driving under the influence of alcohol or an illicit or prescribed drug, then call Martin Bullock Lawyers on 02 9687 9322 to discuss your options for contesting the offence.
